LIBRARIES 02/18 – 02/22/19

DUTIES: Parent Pickup Monday-Friday 3:20

5th Grade Lunch Duty Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 12:25-1:00 pm

MONDAY & TUESDAY:

8:40-11:55  ELC Library – Kindergarten Library Classes - ‘US Presidents’’ Fiction/Nonfiction (priority Tuesday).  Focus: Continue to order/request/purchase items that will entertain students in the event of an extended emergency, continue promoting Redbud award nominee books, seek a plastic recycling vendor, continue work on General and Activity account(s) book orders, begin ELC Spring Book Fair tasks, and continue scheduling efforts for ‘Mad Science’ assembly.   Normal library duties including but not limited to: teaching students to use the library by finding books that are appropriate and of interest using the Dewey system and established local cataloging system, check books in and out, re-shelve books, make sure Pre-K has requested and necessary library items, ordering books requested and appropriate for students and staff, downloading MARC records, processing new books, repairing and weeding current books and other materials on inventory as needed, checking inventory and ordering other necessary library materials as needed, preparing for Game Faces as needed, consulting with administration and staff for school and classroom needs that can be provided by the library.  

 

1:00-3:20  IE Library – Focus: Collaborate to complete Book Order using donated funds.  Continue to order/request/purchase items that will entertain students in the event of an extended emergency, continue promoting Sequoyah award nominee books, seek a plastic recycling vendor, continue work on General and Activity account(s) book orders, begin scheduling efforts for ‘Mad Science’ assembly, prepare for 3rd Grade Reference Lessons, prepare 4th Grade Citing Sources Lessons, and continue collaboration with teachers/Renaissance to finalize questions/answers for maximizing AR services (AR reports, etc) as determined through AR Webinar.  Normal library duties including but not limited to: teaching students to use the library by finding books that are appropriate and of interest using the Dewey system and established local cataloging system, check books in and out, re-shelve books, make sure Pre-K has requested and necessary library items, ordering books requested and appropriate for students and staff, downloading MARC records, processing new books, repairing and weeding current books and other materials on inventory as needed, checking inventory and ordering other necessary library materials as needed, preparing for Game Faces as needed, consulting with administration and staff for school and classroom needs that can be provided by the library.

FRIDAY:  Lunch duty 12:25-1:00

8:15-9:00 ELC Library - Prepare and coordinate ELC Gameface sales as needed.  

9:00-9:30 ELC Library –  Reconcile Gameface sales as time allows and/or perform normal duties as necessitated.  Normal library duties including but not limited to: teaching students to use the library by finding books that are appropriate and of interest using the Dewey system and established local cataloging system, check books in and out, re-shelve books, make sure Pre-K has requested and necessary library items, ordering books requested and appropriate for students and staff, downloading MARC records, processing new books, repairing and weeding current books and other materials on inventory as needed, checking inventory and ordering other necessary library materials as needed, preparing for Game Faces as needed, consulting with administration and staff for school and classroom needs that can be provided by the library.

9:35-10:45 - IE 4th Grade Block Class – Literature appreciation:  Read and discuss connections, genres, etc., of selected books (this week ‘US Presidents’ and ‘Black History’.  Continue work on student book talks as time allows (RWSR).

10:45-11:55  ELC Library – Finish Gameface reconciliation, pickup PreK Gameface supplies and funds, add Pre-K sales to ELC sales, and make deposit with Admin before 12:00, as needed.  Continue with normal library duties as time allows.

Lunch duty 12:25-1:00
