LESSON PLANS FOR MRS. CHERRY

ELC / IE LIBRARIES 11/27/17 – 12/01/17

DUTIES:                Parent Pickup Monday-Friday 3:20

5th Grade Lunch Duty Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 12:25-1:00

MONDAY, TUESDAY, & WEDNESDAY  

8:40-11:55 ELC Library – Work on Lyric Theater scheduling, set up, etc.  Normal library duties include but not limited to:  teaching students to use the library by finding books that are appropriate and of interest using the reading level/color-code system and Dewey system, check books in and out, re-shelve books, develop a book order list appropriate for students and staff, downloading MARC records, processing new books, repairing and weeding current books and other materials on inventory as needed, checking inventory and ordering other necessary library materials as needed, ordering and preparing for GameFace sales, and consulting with administration and staff for school and classroom needs that can be provided by the library.

Lunch duty 12:25-1:00 (Tuesday & Wednesday)

1:00-3:20  IE Library – Work on Lyric Theater scheduling, set up, etc.  Normal library duties include but not limited to:  teaching students to use the library by finding books using the Dewey system that are appropriate and of interest, check books in and out, re-shelve books, develop a book order list appropriate for students and staff, downloading MARC records, processing new books, repairing and weeding current books and other materials on inventory as needed, checking inventory and ordering other necessary library materials as needed, consulting with administration and staff for school and classroom needs that can be provided by the library, maintaining Computer Lab and coordinating classroom use of Computer Lab.  Continue working on filling Dollar General Grant nonfiction book order.

Parent pickup duty 3:20 (Wednesday 2:20)

THURSDAY:

8:40-12:30 ELC Library – Work on Lyric Theater scheduling, set up, etc.  Normal library duties include but not limited to:  teaching students to use the library by finding books using the Dewey system that are appropriate and of interest, check books in and out, re-shelve books, make sure Pre-K has requested and necessary library items, develop a book order list appropriate for students and staff, downloading MARC records, processing new books, repairing and weeding current books and other materials on inventory as needed, checking inventory and ordering other necessary library materials as needed, preparing for GameFaces as needed, and consulting with administration and staff for school and classroom needs that can be provided by the library.

FRIDAY:

8:15-9:10 – ELC GameFace sales and application.

9:10-9:30 - ELC Library – Count GameFace proceeds, reconcile for deposit at Admin, make deposit before 12:00.   

9:35-10:45 IE – 4th Grade Block Class –Find out if any students are ready to give their book talk.  Discuss Thanksgiving, what it means to each student, and ask if they can think of any books that remind them of Thanksgiving or they have read/really enjoyed that are about Thanksgiving.  Share my favorite Thanksgiving books.  As time allows: Give lesson on reference sources.  Pass out various sources for students to look through.  Give specific items for students to look for and have students determine which source is best to use for finding each item (work in small groups).  This lesson is carried over from 11/17, due to IE students attending all school play.  As time allows give handouts and instructions for reference source scavenger hunt.  (RWSR)

10:45-11:55 ELC Library – Work on Lyric Theater scheduling, set up, etc.   Normal library duties include but not limited to:  teaching students to use the library by finding books using the Dewey system that are appropriate and of interest, check books in and out, re-shelve books, make sure Pre-K has requested and necessary library items, develop a book order list appropriate for students and staff, downloading MARC records, processing new books, repairing and weeding current books and other materials on inventory as needed, checking inventory and ordering other necessary library materials as needed, preparing for Game Faces as needed, consulting with administration and staff for school and classroom needs that can be provided by the library.  Continue working on inventory, repairs, and administrative tasks to facilitate library use by students and staff.

 Lunch duty 12:25-1:00
