GRAMMAR (25 min.): Jivey: Read Over and Under the Snow by Kate Messner to students. Students will write the title of the book and Mentor sentence in their journal. Then use Jivey pg. 281 “Monday” to discuss the components of the Mentor Sentence. Discuss declarative, interrogative, exclamation, and imperative types of sentences.

Wonders: (T32-T33) Do Daily Language Activity (sentences) with students. Pass out Grammar Packet. Students will complete Grammar WS pg. 1.  Keep in binder.

SPELLING (5 minutes): (T34-T35)Hand out Spelling Study Guide and review spelling pattern with students. Pass out Spelling Packet. Students will complete Spelling WS pg. 2-3.

READING (60 minutes): (T10-T17) Discuss context clues and vocabulary using pgs. 18-25 (Small Reading Textbook). Students will complete Vocabulary WS, pgs. 1 and 7.

Small Group (30 min.):

Scootpad (Enrichment): Students will work on IXL or Scootpad when finished with homework.

GRAMMAR (25 min.): Jivey: Choose a student to reread Over and Under the Snow by Kate Messner. Using Jivey pg. 281 “Tuesday,” students will label the parts of speech of their Mentor Sentence in their journal. Have students use their white boards to write examples of declarative, interrogative, exclamation, and imperative sentences. Wonders: (T32-T33) Do Daily Language Activity (sentences) with students. Pass out Grammar Packet. Students will complete Grammar Packet, page 2.  Turn in.

SPELLING (5 minutes):

(T34-T35) Review spelling pattern with students. Students will complete Spelling WS pg. 4.

READING (60 minutes):

(T18-T25) Discuss rereading, sequencing, genre, and vocabulary using pgs. 26-29 (Small Reading Textbook). Students will complete Fluency WS pg. 3-5.

Small Group (30 minutes):

Scootpad (Enrichment): Students will work on IXL or Scootpad when finished with homework.

GRAMMAR (25 min.): Jivey: Using Jivey pg. 281 “Wednesday & Thursday,”  students will write a revised and imitation sentence in their journals.

Wonders: (T32-T33) Do Daily Language Activity (sentences) with students. Students will complete Grammar Packet, page 3/4.. Keep in binder.

READING (60 minutes): Read and discuss One Hen, pgs. 10-23, with students (Big Reading Textbook). As we read, complete Reading WS pg. 2 with students. Students will comp Students will complete QUAN: Old Time Operations.  Reading WS pg. 6.

Scootpad (Enrichment): Students will work on IXL or Scootpad when finished with homework.

SPELLING (15 minutes):

(T35) Students will get out a sheet of paper and number to 25 for Spelling Test. Pick up any signed study guides. Give the Spelling Test.

GRAMMAR (15 min.): Jivey: Review  declarative, interrogative, exclamation, and imperative sentences.Students will complete Jivey Grammar Assessment.

Wonders: (T32-T33) Do Daily Language Activity (sentences) with students. Students will complete Grammar Packet, pg. 5

READING (60 minutes):

Review skills and vocabulary. Pass out Selection Test and Weekly Assessment. Students will take both tests and will turn in the test when finished.

Small Group:

Scootpad (Enrichment): Students will work on IXL or Scootpad when finished with homework.

SS (45 minutes): Read and discuss pages 224-227. Students will complete Lesson Review, pg. 227, #1-5 and Social Studies WS pg. 55.

 

Mini-lesson: Draft Model pgs. 9/10

 

WRITING (90 minutes):

Review 5-Paragraph Informative Essays. Pass out Writing Packet pgs. 20-25. Students will follow the directions on the writing prompt. Students must have a 4Square a
