Before reading use Vocab. Game for quick review

Give students 8 index cards between shoulder partners. Write each vocabulary word on the index cards.  Should be eight

Have students get their headbands from their cubbies.

Plan head banz game.  Each partner gives clues to the other partner and try to guess vocabulary words.  Tell them to use synonyms of vocabulary words to help determine the word.

 

 

Assign: Read “The Winningest Woman of the Iditarod Dog Sled Race”  pp. 360-361

“The Brave Ones”, pages 362- and “Narcissa” page 365

 

ASSIGN: selection test after whole group reading of the weekly story.
