**Discuss and decide on class rules as a group. Discuss proper way to clean up after oneself, lining up, bathroom etiquette, and how we treat others.**

Objectives: Listen to others while in large and small groups.  Identify the American flag as a national symbol of our country and understand the etiquette of its use.  Identify the Oklahoma flag as a symbol of our state.  Begin to develop an understanding of days of the week. Begin recognizing their own name and names of their peers. Start identifying the calendar as a tool to tell us the date.

Word Wall Activities: First Names

Objective: Students will become familiar with new sight words and add them to our word wall
Lesson: Introduce word by having students guess what word you are thinking of.  Give them hints such as beginning sound, how many letters, etc. Use new word in a sentence.  Introduce 3 new sight words each week.

Name Writing : Guessing first names

Objective: Students will use sight words in a sentence of their own.
Lesson: Review sight words for the week and write on board.  Count how many letters are in each word and how many words there are this week.  Have volunteers verbally use words in sentences of their own.  May need to give them an example to get ideas flowing.
