Writing: Free Drawing/Writing using markers, crayons, stencils, and colored pencils. Coloring sheets and tracing sheets, as well as blank paper will be provided.

Art: Die-cuts/free choice/Painting with watercolors

Fine-Motor Skills: Play dough with cut outs, knives, and spoons

Library: Thematic books

Blocks: Wooden blocks

Manipulative: Free choice

Science: Discovery bottles

Puzzle Table: various table puzzles 

***Students are also able to go to the Poetry center, ABC center, Math center, or any other center set-up for Literacy/Math centers

Rise & Shine, Greeting, Flag Salute

RWSR

**Discuss and decide on class rules as a group. Discuss proper way to clean up after oneself, lining up, bathroom etiquette, and how we treat others.**

 

Calendar Activities:  Day of the week, Month of the Year, Reciting the date, Counting days of school, Birthdays, Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow, Season of the Year

Other Activities:  Weather, Leaders of the Day, Name of the Day, counting, name cheering, syllable clapping

Objectives: Listen to others while in large and small groups.  Identify the American flag as a national symbol of our country and understand the etiquette of its use.  Identify the Oklahoma flag as a symbol of our state.  Begin to develop an understanding of days of the week. Begin recognizing their own name and names of their peers. Start identifying the calendar as a tool to tell us the date.

Objective: Sorts objects and describe how the groups are similar and different

Lesson: Counting to 10. Begin sorting of buttons, discuss ways to sort. Begin group discussion on My 5Senses.

 Skills: M 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.5, 2.6, 3.1, 3.2, 4.2, 5.2, 5.3; HSPD 2.1, 2.2

Objective: Sorts objects and describe how the groups are similar and different

Lesson: Use ordinal numbers when picking out items. Introduce Matthew and Tilly. Read book and have volunteers help sort broken crayons and explain.

Lesson: Using farm animal counters, sort by color, size and shape. Taste various foods and discuss sweet, sour, salty, etc.

Lesson: Read Oliver, Oliver Twist and plays game with students.

Graph/sort pictures into groups of the 5 senses.

Lesson: Sing the alphabet song using various songs. Review the alphabet. Use poetry poster 4, discussing how we get along with friends. Review syllables of words in poem.
