OSU Updates

Oklahoma State University

May 2024 Edition

SENIOR NEXT STEPS

Please encourage your future OSU Cowboys to register for orientation and enrollment and housing as soon as possible.

Orientation and enrollment is a required program that introduces students to the academic and campus resources that will set them up for success as they enroll in classes. Sessions fill up fast, so we highly encourage your students to register quickly and select a date that best fits their schedule.

All freshmen are required to live on campus at OSU. We've put together a user-friendly, step-by-step training course so students can thoughtfully and accurately complete the housing registration process

Keep in mind, students must first submit their enrollment deposit to register for both. Those who are eligible for an application fee waiver, Oklahoma's Promise or a Pell Grant as determined by the FAFSA can have their enrollment deposit deferred. The enrollment deposit can be refunded in part ($250) until June 1.

CAMP COWBOY

Camp Cowboy is an optional, three-day extended orientation program designed to give incoming students a glimpse of life at OSU. Attendees will form lifelong friendships, learn campus traditions and engage in leadership and service initiatives. Camps are offered throughout the summer.

Registration is $315 per student. Fee waivers are available for those needing financial assistance.

FAFSA UPDATE

We've begun awarding federal aid to students! Families are being notified, so please encourage them to check their email and mailboxes for their award updates. Students who've been awarded a scholarship should view and accept their award online by June 1.

Please encourage students to submit the FAFSA using OSU's school code: 003170, and visit our FAFSA Simplification page for the latest information. Students can check the status of their form by logging in at StudentAid.gov and selecting their FAFSA submission from the "My Activity" section of their account dashboard.

To ensure families have more time to make informed decisions,
we’ve extended our admission and scholarship deadlines to June 1.

  • Some scholarships and financial aid must be accepted by June 1, or they will be canceled.
  • Students can receive a partial enrollment deposit refund ($250) if they cancel by June 1.
  • Students are encouraged to complete their enrollment deposit and register for housing and orientation and enrollment by June 1.

As we all navigate the FAFSA changes, please encourage your students to contact our Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid with any questions or concerns at 405-744-6604 or finaid@okstate.edu. We hope to see your students in orange this fall!

You can look forward to an expanded Student Success Center, classrooms and teaching labs that support team-based learning, group study and huddle rooms.

CEAT DISCOVERY DAYS

The College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT) Discovery Days provide high school students the opportunity to explore various engineering disciplines through activities and presentations. SPORTS MEDIA CAMP 2024

The School of Media and Strategic Communications will once again host the four-day, on-campus Sports Media Camp from June 12-15. It is designed for high school students interested in working in the sports communication industry.

The camp is directed by OSU Sports Media faculty member Dave Hunziker, the official voice of the OSU Cowboys, as well as other faculty serving as camp instructors.

CEAT SUMMER BRIDGE

Summer Bridge is a three-week residential, on-campus preparatory program available to incoming OSU students who plan to major in engineering, architecture or engineering technology. The program is designed to guide students as they transition from high school into the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology. Students will engage in coursework, participate in faculty-led projects and hear from industry leaders like Phillips 66 and Halliburton.
