 Middle School Library Media Center 

The mission of Fort Gibson Middle School Library Media Center is to empower each student to achieve educational excellence through a culture which promotes creativity and responsible citizenship in an ever-changing society. 

Hours:  7:45 - 2:45 p.m. During regular school days.

Students are invited to use the library media center before school, after school or any time during the day with permission from their teacher.  Students are encouraged to read for enjoyment, to explore ideas and to develop ideas of their own to foster an environment that promotes life-long learning. Student achievement in reading, writing, reasoning and speaking is expected. Students are mentored with the research process as they perfect their strategies and skills to attain a higher degree of understanding to accomplish their research goals.


  • Students may search the library catalog for books and materials.  Access the online catalog by clicking on the link on this Page....clicking on Middle School...then login.  Features include Destiny Quest, Top 10 books with brief annotation, Resource Lists, like New Arrivals.  Students may keep track of their materials by what they have read, what they are now reading and what they want to read.  Each record for a book contains bibliographic information, quiz info, awards and reviews.  Students may place holds on books. Books may be checked out for 10 school days and may be renewed 3 times.  Students have the responsibility of using copyrighted materials, software, etc. appropriately.
    • Fort Gibson Middle School Library  has ebooks which can be read with any browser at https://wbb08286.follettshelf.com Students will use their school username and password. Students may also read e-books  at http://www.gutenberg.org

    • Click here for the EBSCO database that is used for magazines, reference books, biographies, primary source documents, image collection, and an encyclopedia. 
    • Click here for the Oklahoma Information System database used for career information with a portfolio component. 
    • Newspapers are available:   Muskogee Phoenix, and Fort Gibson Times.
    • Computers have internet access and a printer.  Before using the computers, students must have signed and returned the "Contract for Internet Usage".
